Founded in 1981 in France, Restaurateurs Sans Frontières (RSF) is an international organization of art restoration and cultural development experts committed to the preservation of world cultural heritage. With its headquarters in Avignon, France and centers in Istanbul, Bangkok, Thessaloniki and Tashkent, RSF has provided manpower, technical and scientific support for the restoration of fine artwork in the Eastern Mediterranean, Central Europe, East Africa, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Central America. With restoration and restoration training as its central effort, RSF activities have taken on new dimensions to maximize social impact. RSF is now leading cultural preservation projects to establish centers of living culture, promote contemporary creative exchange programs, redevelop museums and create pedagogical activities such as exhibitions and seminars. In this way, RSF is concerned with the physical safety of objects, and the protection of the culture and traditions attached to those objects. Restaurateurs Sans Friontières- Istanbul, is a regional base of operations for the Balkans, Eastern Mediterranean, Central Asia and Middle East, having among its immediate goals: - To preserve, conserve, catalog and restore cultural monuments; - To protect, promote and develop living culture; - To stimulate public awareness for the protection of cultural heritage.
